The FT-CH (Future Toyota Compact Hybrid), with a gasoline-electric hybrid system, is a study in the design and development of a small vehicle that offers both the environmental performance of a hybrid-driven system, yet simultaneously offers driving fun in this segment of the vehicle market. On the outside, the FT-CH’s triangular silhouette represents the latest in aerodynamics theory-based airflow management, and, on the inside, the refinement testifies to the importance placed on personal space. TMC placed great emphasis on its hybrid- and electric systems at NAIAS. At this show Toyota displayed the urban concept electric vehicle FT-EV II (Future Toyota-Electric Vehicle), the Prius Plug-in Hybrid, the Camry Hybrid and the Highlander Hybrid, among numerous other vehicles.
